Ward 3 Bike Ride

Bike Elyria is partnering with the Elyria Bicycle Advisory Committee to host the first of a series of what we are calling Ward Rides.

What is a Ward Ride you ask? This is when people from all over join us and city officials in exploring the streets and unique neighborhoods of a particular ward in Elyria. We selected Ward 3 because Mark Jessie, Ward 3 Councilman is an avid cyclist himself and his ward will be a good one to explore. Ward 3 is Elyria’s southwest corner starting around East Rec area and wanders down to the southern limits across Chestnut Ridge and even includes the Chestnut Commons area. It’s a large area with lots of older and newer homes – great for exploring.

In case you have not seen our flyer for this event, here it is with some of the important details, like when and where and all that. Take a look then come back here to register. Click on this link:   ward-3-ride-10-16

We will meet at the East Recreation Center Pool Parking Lot and head out from there. A map of our route can be found here: ward-3-ride-map The route is only about 8.7 miles long so it will not take long to ride the route. We will be done well before noon so you can get on with your Saturday.

We need for people to pre-register for this event so we can prepare properly. To register, simply click on the link below and fill in the few blanks. We need to register kids separately so we know how many kids to expect. Any information you give us will never be shared with anyone – a valid email address is requested only for verification – we will not send you any unwanted emails.

Later on we will host Ward Rides from each of Elyria’s wards, helping residents get to know what their city is like, when seen from a bike seat. We have a great city but it can always be better.

Hope to see all of you there.
